Cardinal Glennon Safety Program

Infant Car Seat and Sleep Safety

The SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Safety Program is dedicated to the wellbeing and safety of children of all ages. Through education and resources, our goal is to prevent childhood injuries and contribute to the overall reduction of infant mortality in the St. Louis region and beyond.

In partnership with Safe Kids Worldwide and a variety of local organizations, we provide the tools you need to keep your children and babies safe at home, in the car and at play.

Some of the many services we offer include Infant and Child CPR classes, Baby Safety 101 classes with safe sleep resources, no-cost car seats to families in need, and much more!

How Your Support Helps

Donor support of the SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Safety Program ensures that our staff can continue providing these vital resources to families. Injury prevention is a team effort, and we are so grateful to the many donors and community partners who help make these important community programs possible!

Baby Home Safety

A new baby can be wonderful and overwhelming at the same time. Life is busy, as we all know, and getting all the right information in one place can be reassuring to any new parent. In partnership with Safe Kids Worldwide and several local and regional partners, the skilled professionals with the SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Safety Program team provide education and resources to parents and caregivers on several topics related to the care of baby, including safe sleep.

Need a car seat for your baby, but can’t afford one? Thanks to generous support from the community, we offer a no-cost car seat for children under age 1 along with parent education from a highly-trained professional. Car seats for children over age one are available through our local Child Passenger Safety Partners. For more information, call the Safety Program office at 314-678-5474.

Child Passenger Safety

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration tells us that car crashes remain the number one killer of children under the age of 12. “The best way to protect them in the car is to put them in the right seat, at the right time, and use it the right way.”

Need a safe sleep environment for your baby, but can’t afford one? Attend a Baby Safety 101 class and receive a safe sleep environment for your baby at no cost.
